Good morning! As of 5am our storm is well underway and outperforming in spots. In my location in NNJ I have about 5" on the ground where areas in CT have 8"+ already! This is due to some heavy snow banding that has developed. Believe it or not the storm will be ending shortly after daybreak for NJ by middle of the morning for SE New England then this afternoon for NE New England. As I said it is a quick hitter.
Current radar over NJ shows the heavy snow bands. Far NW NJ has been missing out on this ...
Up in CT a powerband of snow has developed droppoing several inches of snow per hour...
By 9am models project the snow is over in NJ and it will hold on for a few more hours up north..
Some areas in CT and Mass will see over 10" with this today due to the big band of snow.
Things then do not warm up much through the weekend. We will have a shot of arctic air on Monday night which will plunge temperatures into the sub zero for New England and single digits to the south...
The next period to watch will then be late next weekend. We may see some mixed precip and freezing rain on Sunday.
