About Me

I am a  resident of Morris County NJ and have had a passion for weather since I was 5 years old. Snowstorms have always interested me and naturally my favorite season is winter. I am not a meteorologist by trade, and in fact I am the complete opposite working as a Wealth Manager for a one of the largest investment firms in the country. However, I have been studying this science for over ten years now and consider myself fairly proficient in using the resources I have to forecast potential events. The last thing I ever expected myself to do was create a "blog", but after Superstorm Sandy and all of the calls and emails I got asking for my opinion I decided I would take a shot and create this blog. Enjoy.

    3. Ok Larry I took a more in depth look for you. Next weekend as you may have already assumed is very questionable weather wise. We have two factors at play one is much more dominant than the other. For one a front will approach the area late next week with will cause unsettled weather on its own. However, as I hinted a tropical system now looks like it will effect some part of the eastern region of the country from the sat-mon time frame.

Right now the European and Canadian models are the most bullish on this system hugging the east coast drenching everyone along the path in rain. The GFS is more out to sea once it gets past the lower Carolinas. In any event things at this point do not look good for next weekend in terms of nice weather. The GFS might be the only saving grace if it verifys and the storm stays out to sea.

We are still a week away so a lot can change, but what I do know a tropical like system (not hurricane) will develop, its just a matter of where the track is. At first glance my prediction would be this storm comes up the coast and effects our area with wind driven rain.

Sorry for the bad news Larry. Keep checking in, I will update the forecast on the blog this week if anything changes.
