*A winter storm will impact the region Thursday morning into Friday. Snow moves into the region early tomorrow morning and picks up in intensity by the late morning through the afternoon hours. By Thursday afternoon, conditions will deteriorate quickly as snow rapidly accumulates. Sleet will try to mix in at times in all areas up to NNJ with freezing rain and plain rain to the way south. Snow lingers into Friday morning.*

For areas in SNJ, eastern MD and Delaware expect some initial accumulations with a changeover to freezing rain and plain rain. For all other areas there will be decent accumulations before any changeover to ice occurs. The best place for amounts over 6" will be interior PA, NW NJ, into southern New England. I expect precipitation to stay mostly snow.

By the the time we get to Thursday evening, the initial heavy burst of snow has ended and the freezing rain and sleet line moves more north....
I like how this model is handling the precipitation types. As we get into the overnight hours on Thursday, light to moderate snow continues to fall over the interior areas accumulating a few more inches...
This is why I have that band of 6-10 inches as I expect NW NJ, NE PA into Southern New England see more accumulations. Watch out for ice on roads to the south in areas like CNJ etc on Thursday night!
