Good morning. I am out of town till Sunday, but it looks like 1-2" has fallen in parts of NW NJ this morning. This will end soon and things will warm up later today.
The storm threat for Sunday that originally looked to be offshore has now trended more NW. This means our area can now see a light to moderate snowstorm on Sunday. Below I will discuss the details along with the next 10 days which can feature multiple shots at snow, and a bigger storm next weekend.
Here is my first rough guess of who can see a general 3 to 6 inches of snow on Sunday...
For Sunday, the energy for the storm has trended much more amplified and the result is a snowstorm that hit the area. This is more of a moderate snow threat. At this time the hardest hit areas being modeled to be CNJ south into eastern New England. I have a feeling this will still shift a little more NW. My map above accounts for that. The timing is Sunday morning through afternoon...

As you can see a nice moderate snowfall. As I mentioned, i think this can still shift a little more NW at the last second. Regardless, this can be a nice 3-6" even for many in the Mid-Atlantic to Southern New England.

In the wake of Sunday's storm the pattern will stay extremely active next week. There will likely be some sort of system mid week followed by a larger storm threat next weekend. Winter is here guys and the pattern is loaded! Stay tuned.
