Hey Willy, That storm seemed to send a lot of snow down to the ground (saw flakes in the air for almost 12 hours), but the ground wasn't very receptive. We got maybe 1 inch on cold surfaces in Montclair at 300 ft, some slush on the grass in Rutherford at 30 feet, nothing at all in Newark. Looks like a split decision between what the synoptic and mesoscale models predicted. Your forecast seemed like a split, 1 to 3 inches, and thus was pretty close. Joe C seems to favor the NAM, and predicted 3 to 8 inches between the Hudson and Route 94. Win some, lose some in the snow prediction game !! Jim G
Amazing how elevation made such a difference. The 2 degree difference between say 500 ft and 1000ft was 3 inches vs 11inches...We got another interesting one for Wed, let's see what happens
