Thursday Weather Note: Weekend Out to Sea, New England the Focus Next Week

Good morning, quick update today. The weekends storm will be staying  mostly out to sea. This is not a surprise to me but I will say we had a few indications yesterday it might try to make a move west. Coastal areas of the Mid-Atlantic and New England can still see some light accumulations Saturday as this skirts on by....

For areas near the coast expect a dusting to maybe an inch or two of snow. We can hone in on this tomorrow but its nothing to write home about.

My focus continues to be on the middle of next week. It is very likely a storm system will develop late over New England which can end up being a decent snow producer....

This situation has had my attention all week due to the upper air set up...

We have a fairly sharp northern disturbance diving in behind some energy out front. The timing is a little late so that is why this storm will also develop later. In most cases, the late developing storms always favor New England over the Mid-Atlantic in term snowfall. That will be the focus here.

I will keep a close eye on this next few days.

In the longer range the pattern stays cold and active. We will have another shot at storm activity as we head towards the middle of the month.

The cold is not going anywhere so it is only a matter of time before the region gets hit. Stay tuned.
