Things will warm up a little tomorrow into the low 80s as warmer air moves into the region.
This will be followed by the passage of another cold front Wednesday night into Thursday morning causing showers and storms..
In the wake of this front things cool down again into the upper 70s through the weekend. It may not be a scorcher but it really will be perfect weather.
Dew points this weekend which show how much moisture is in the air will be low which means very comfortable air...
So why hasn't it been to hot this spring so far and why have we seen more storms than last year?
Well it has to do with the pattern in the higher latitudes. We have had a lot of high pressure over the pole and Greenland which causes the jet stream to buckle and allow cooler air to funnel south. In the winter this means more shots for snow. In the spring and early summer it means cooler and unsettled weather as warm and cooler air collide more frequently. This is also why you have heard of more tornado's this year.

The red is high pressure. Notice how it is all bottled up to the north. This pattern may not break till late June this year. Eventually the real heat will come but the question is will it be persistent this summer. Time will tell but for now enjoy the nice weather!
