Monday: Some Heavy Rain Then Chilly Air

Good morning. We will have a pretty active week ahead with a big rain maker on Tuesday night  then some nice cool fall air to end the week.

Staring off with the rain maker, rain starts to move into the area tomorrow afternoon. The culprit will be a stalled frontal boundary that impulses of moisture will ride along form the southeast...

You can see the front above characterized as a rapid change in dew points above.

The moisture runs along this...

Which naturally causes heavy rains Tuesday into Wednesday...

In the wake a shot of true fall air for the end of the week. Here are high temps for Thursday...

Lows will be in 30s and 40s for many this weekend.

That's all for now. Remember winter outlook is out next month!

Monday the 21st: Fall is In Full Swing Early This Year

Good morning. It has been a while since I posted but now we are approaching my peak season. Over past two weeks we have started to feel the true change of the season. Very cool nights with comfortable daytime temps have been the theme and will continue. It has been quite some time since I remember an early start to fall. After the fairly warm summer, I welcome it.

There is no doubt high tropical activity has amplified the jet stream and had some aid in this current pattern we are in. The tropics stay active over the next few weeks and models are showing a similar weather pattern in the east...

Pretty impressive pattern with all the cooler air pooled in the east next 10 days. There will be some breaks with warmer weather but overall the theme stays in tact through the end of September.

In other news, my Winter Outlook 2021 is around a month away. I am aiming for a release on Monday October 19th.

Will be picking up the posting frequency...stay tuned.
