Below is my initial forecast. </span></p><p><span style="color: #2b00fe; font-family: georgia;">I also have my eye on late next week for a larger storm. The evolution of this storm took some unexpected shifts overnight and will be further south and colder than I expected. Rain moves in later tonight and changes to snow before daybreak Tuesday. This will be a major winter storm for many across the region, especially in the higher elevations.</span></p><p><span style="color: #2b00fe; font-family: georgia;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="color: #2b00fe; font-family: georgia;"> Below is my updated forecast. </span></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjg73WtrTYulSBzAA6vyhimAo5N5lP_8dpoyrv5og9JtYvU9ZfNJVO3yRddLg5OOqhNzeaM6317lyFY3PzK5LIRxJ7Jc9Nk07xkfTsJBy0yULRGkPsm4FkPQ5Zqg8tWpNk5lHhUe_R44sCMNSjfiOxW2CRhPMMl-Ir9a0SbCLY9ec1gO0wIvbWQd4VCzwbH/s984/Finalllllll.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="550" data-original-width="984" height="358" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjg73WtrTYulSBzAA6vyhimAo5N5lP_8dpoyrv5og9JtYvU9ZfNJVO3yRddLg5OOqhNzeaM6317lyFY3PzK5LIRxJ7Jc9Nk07xkfTsJBy0yULRGkPsm4FkPQ5Zqg8tWpNk5lHhUe_R44sCMNSjfiOxW2CRhPMMl-Ir9a0SbCLY9ec1gO0wIvbWQd4VCzwbH/w640-h358/Finalllllll.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br /><p></p>Weather Willyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13387468068540557329noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3789852038134041446.post-8944390876909464602024-02-11T09:29:00.004-05:002024-02-11T09:29:52.536-05:00Sunday morning: Updated Forecast<p><span style="color: #2b00fe;">Good morning everybody. Below is my updated forecast map for Monday night into Tuesday. Expect heavy rain to enter the region tomorrow night and transition to snow in the higher elevations of northwestern New Jersey and into New England by Tuesday morning. For areas closer to the coast, some snow will fall at the end of this event but I do not expect high accumulations. This is really going to be the Poconos into New England with the highest snowfall totals. In New Jersey most of the snow snow will be confined to the Northwest corner of the state. For other areas north of 78 expect a few inches possible.</span></p><p><span style="color: #2b00fe;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="color: #2b00fe;">For our friends in New England you have to be about 15 miles off the coast to start to see some decent accumulations. Once you get into the core of Connecticut Massachusetts etc this is an old-fashioned snowstorm.</span></p><p><span style="color: #2b00fe;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="color: #2b00fe;">Stay tuned I will have more commentary out tonight and tomorrow morning.</span></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVzRM9j6GFNoT3_F1YE2xLmi0PacxzXPgy682TwlApqp4eTP044affl_lt6X076D4hW15eac9SrHYzuOmwHWsksZJPQOUa5RKviLd00mL180_OOtYwADqwP0OaNZdhcMjh4C9kDIdUZFEf3eTDHVm3RuDnQekKu6t4sxp-eoVAGAg9ontjoEeEVNpR6zoa/s770/20240210_193655.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="491" data-original-width="770" height="408" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVzRM9j6GFNoT3_F1YE2xLmi0PacxzXPgy682TwlApqp4eTP044affl_lt6X076D4hW15eac9SrHYzuOmwHWsksZJPQOUa5RKviLd00mL180_OOtYwADqwP0OaNZdhcMjh4C9kDIdUZFEf3eTDHVm3RuDnQekKu6t4sxp-eoVAGAg9ontjoEeEVNpR6zoa/w640-h408/20240210_193655.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p>Weather Willyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13387468068540557329noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3789852038134041446.post-58429026660367214012024-02-10T09:27:00.000-05:002024-02-10T09:27:07.995-05:00Winter Storm for Some Tuesday <p> <span style="color: #2b00fe; font-family: georgia;">Good morning. I made some changes and below is my final forecast for tomorrow. I cut down amounts across the north and honed in on the zone of heaviest snow. Our moderate snow event is still on track for Friday. <b>Timing is Friday morning through the evening. It looks like the heavier precipitation will arrive around 10-11am tomorrow morning.</b> This setup still has a high degree of volatility meaning we can see last min shift up to the time of the event with the narrow heavier band of snow. I am keeping my forecast from yesterday and I do not have any overwhelming data to change it. I will have a final update at 9pm tonight. It is my best estimate of where this heavy snow can set up at this time. </span></p><p><span style="color: #2b00fe; font-family: georgia;"><br /></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlQFchz0X-Az63F_D0Aw-_QfnNN0R0xpBI5VGivTz2TTcauO05CEJkdK4E7oAPwFgSzcSIfLl4u9UDp_vgzL5xZlqwKCC6rQ1lG6X7PnDHF0zLqsuPY0PHC6hSdzeGM5E9P_Au2PrnVmRE32uFqHaswhQwpjaC0qDq15xnal2Z1_chvfQjrWaO7OyKbKXM/s761/Initial%20for%20friday.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="color: #2b00fe; font-family: georgia;"><img border="0" data-original-height="477" data-original-width="761" height="402" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlQFchz0X-Az63F_D0Aw-_QfnNN0R0xpBI5VGivTz2TTcauO05CEJkdK4E7oAPwFgSzcSIfLl4u9UDp_vgzL5xZlqwKCC6rQ1lG6X7PnDHF0zLqsuPY0PHC6hSdzeGM5E9P_Au2PrnVmRE32uFqHaswhQwpjaC0qDq15xnal2Z1_chvfQjrWaO7OyKbKXM/w640-h402/Initial%20for%20friday.JPG" width="640" /></span></a></div><span style="color: #2b00fe; font-family: georgia;"><br /></span><p><span style="color: #2b00fe; font-family: georgia;">Lets take a loo at the expected evolution. My forecast is on track for tomorrow winter storm. The biggest development today is the arrival of the snowfall coming in earlier. This means snow can pile up fast across the tri state by late tomorrow afternoon. The video below is a quick breakdown of my concern. No changes to my accumulation map.</span></p><p><br /></p>

I am making to changes to my going forecast from yesterday.<b> A winter storm is expected to impact folks who live NW of Interstate 95 late Saturday afternoon into early Sunday morning. </b>For areas in NNJ, this will be very elevation dependent for higher snowfall totals. My map tries to reflect that. I will have another update out tonight around <b>10pm.</b></span></p><p><span style="color: #2b00fe; font-family: georgia;">Lets take a look...</span></p><p><span style="color: #2b00fe; font-family: georgia;">The forecast...</span></p><p><span style="color: #2b00fe; font-family: georgia;"><br /></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinDnhNlsiTsSCl-C5iSPYl8t9Y4-KTJqqsCGji6AbUZGLuRIQ7Z_7eZgLx0wnQ7YIRKS7rTy-o_X8dvgDh86Co7KZfPImCNIOCHIFoLSJOvRzOhJj8Ex64TKEgilJrr6yVNcP3LvWf6kbklASB-0jIY3Lz1ZkBxC-npJqln-fpV3vvw_dTwqAZ5faxCJMc/s952/version%203%20snowfall.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="color: #2b00fe; font-family: georgia;"><img border="0" data-original-height="611" data-original-width="952" height="410" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinDnhNlsiTsSCl-C5iSPYl8t9Y4-KTJqqsCGji6AbUZGLuRIQ7Z_7eZgLx0wnQ7YIRKS7rTy-o_X8dvgDh86Co7KZfPImCNIOCHIFoLSJOvRzOhJj8Ex64TKEgilJrr6yVNcP3LvWf6kbklASB-0jIY3Lz1ZkBxC-npJqln-fpV3vvw_dTwqAZ5faxCJMc/w640-h410/version%203%20snowfall.JPG" width="640" /></span></a></div><span style="color: #2b00fe; font-family: georgia;"><br /></span><p><span style="color: #2b00fe; font-family: georgia;">Lets look at updated model guidance to review the evolution of the storm...</span></p><p><span style="color: #2b00fe; font-family: georgia;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="color: #2b00fe; font-family: georgia;">Snow should start to spread into the region by mid afternoon Saturday. We have a major storm system that will be approaching the area later today into tomorrow morning. This is a rapidly deepening low pressure system associated with two-phased jet streams. What this means is heavy rain will move in tonight and winds will be gusting likely over 40 mph at times. In the wake of the system colder air moves in with the possibility of a few snow showers.</span></p><p><span style="color: #2b00fe; font-family: georgia;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="color: #2b00fe; font-family: georgia;">Here's our current storm system on satellite.
