Tuesday Weekly Weather Update: Overall Nice Week on Tap

Good morning. Now that the rain has cleared out from the storm system we had over the weekend, we will have a decent stretch of weather upcoming. Expect sunny skies and temperatures in the mid 60s to low 70s in some spots. There is the slight chance for some showers tonight then a better chance at more consistent showers on Friday as a front moves through. The weekend looks nice a this time.

Starting tonight a weak front moves through bringing with it the chance of a shower...

This will be not a big deal and by tomrorow things are completly clear again.

The weather then holds strong until Friday where a stronger cold front will bring more widespread showers and storms...

The good news is this will clear by Saturday paving the way for a really good start to the weekend.

Then we have a wildcard situation for Sunday.

Some models do show a low pressure system cliping through the area...

Other models have a more dry scenario. At this time I would be too concerned about rain Sunday. Lets wait and see how this evolves.

In the long range I do not see any big heat spells on the horizon. The weather pattern is still in transition and we will have more back and forth weather. We will see by May how the summer pattern evolves.

Tuesday Update: Seasonable Week Ahead, Some Rain Over Weekend

Good morning. We have a typical mid spring week on tap. It may be slightly on the chilly side, but temps should reach low 60s for highs through Friday. Rain is mostly limited (some sprinkles tomorrow morning) until Friday afternoon into Saturday morning where a storm system can bring some consistent rain. This leads to an Easter Sunday that will have volatile weather conditions with a few showers possible mixed with sun.

We a decent stretch of weather for the next few days with high pressure to our northeast...

By Friday a storm system develops in the Ohio Valley and will impact our region with some thunderstorms Friday afternoon and then rain through Saturday morning...

By Easter Sunday the front has cleared out with an upper level low spinning over the area...

This means volatile conditions with the chance of a few showers mixed with sun. Overall it should not be too bad Sunday.

Enjoy the week!

Wednesday Update: Seasonable Temps, Shot of Rain Masters Sunday

Good morning. Now that we are in the "off season" my posting will be limited to once a week unless there is a big weather event. I will usually try to time these posts towards the beginning of every week to give a summary of the week ahead.

For today I want to discuss the next several days and what to expect weather wise. Temperatures will be seasonable to slightly on the chilly side in the next two days. Expect highs in the mid to high 50's with Saturday being the warmest day with temps hitting 70.

We will have a round of showers Friday night as a weak front crosses into the region...

Things then clear for Saturday and half of Sunday before the arrival of a low pressure system later this weekend. This low pressure system can really throw a wrench down in Augusta Georgia for the Masters Golf tournament Sunday...

I am thinking there will be some stoppage of play Sunday due to the timing of this.

Looking at the long range, I do not see any big warm ups on the horizon. Just seasonable temps with brief shots of warm weather. The upper level pattern is preventing any sustainable warmth due to high pressure near Greenland...

As we get closer to May the real spring weather should arrive. Until then expect more back and forth as we go through this seasonal transition.

Tuesday: Strong Storm Offshore, Nice Weekend Ahead

Good morning. For this week, the main news will be a strong storm that will be developing offshore tomorrow. This storm will skim by the coast and could actually result in some snowflakes for areas in New England...

I say good chance of accumulating snow up in Maine from this. For areas in New England I say chance of some accumulating snows in the Berkshires and higher elevations on the western flank of this storm.

The next round of rain then comes in on Friday...

Some snow in the mountains of New England to start but that changes over.

This paves the way for a really nice weekend on tap...

Spring is here folks.
