Special Afternoon Update: Model Mayhem, Anything Goes, No Holds Barred!

6pm note: westward trend continues. This will have some impacts on the going forecast. Map will be updated late tonight/early tomorrow morning.

<<<<<<<<

Will keep updates rolling through tomorrow morning with any necessary changes. Sticking with my snowfall map for now.

We still have updated model guidance that is to the west! I discuss in video below. This will keep us on our toes for next 24 hours stay tuned. I am not changing my map. I just want to make you all aware how volatile this situation is. I have never see such high model variance so close to an event.

  1. I was going to respond to your previous post that stated "Interesting developments today" but you beat me to it with this post. Hopefully old man winter throws us a final one (big or small) before bowing out gracefully. If it snows I will go outside and smoke a Cuban cigar and enjoy it.

    1. I hope so too Chuck. I never seen the models this chaotic so close to an event! Thats a great idea by the way, i'll do the same thing if we get lucky here.

  2. Volatile or not I think what we can say for certain is it won't be more than 6 inches. Whether its 1 or 6 is still to be seen.

    1. This late in the game of winter I am happy with a coating - anything more is pure bonus. Funny but nobody on television or even the big online news outlets have caught on or have the guts to notify the public of this westward trend Willy has been speaking of. This is why I go to this site for forecasts. Keep it coming west Willy Man!

    2. Chuck this was a complete roller coaster. What was east went west then what was west went back east. The only thing was to nowcast this event. I have never seen the models so back and forth within 24 hours of an event. I guess its a safe bet for local outlets to stay conservative. Then again, the NWS up in Boston was flip flopping big time over last few days. Oh well, a coating many got in NJ and at least thats something. ENE is doing decent with this right now.
